“Leadership in Action: Rev. Dr. Teke’s Visit Ignites Momentum for Disability Inclusion at RTCE”

EP's Visit to RTCE/BSPH

The Rehabilitation Training Centre of Excellence (RTCE), in partnership with the Baptist School of Public Health (BSPH) Mutengene, was honored to receive the Executive President of the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC), Rev. Dr. Teke John, on a surprise visit to our campus in Mutengene-Ombe. Though unannounced, his presence was a meaningful gesture of support and connection from our covering body.

Rev. Dr. Teke is no stranger to our environment, but this visit reaffirmed the CBC’s top leadership growing commitment to the mission of advancing rehabilitation and promoting disability inclusiveness across Cameroon. We had the pleasure of guiding him through our campus and practice rooms, showcasing our readiness for the upcoming academic year and the strides we’re making in training future health professionals.

His visit was a reminder that we are not alone in this journey—and that together, we are building a stronger, more inclusive future.

The staff were delighted to receive him, and this was reflected in a noticeable boost in morale and renewed energy across departments. His presence served as a powerful affirmation of the work being done at RTCE and BSPH, inspiring our team to continue pushing boundaries and transforming the narrative around rehabilitation. As front-line advocates for inclusion, we remain committed to challenging stigma and creating spaces where persons with disabilities are empowered and valued.

Rev. Dr. Teke’s visit also opened the door for deeper dialogue around future collaboration and strategic support from the CBC. His engagement with faculty and trainees underscored the importance of leadership visibility in driving institutional growth and social impact. We look forward to building on this momentum, strengthening our programs, and expanding our reach as we work together to shape a more inclusive Cameroon.
