The Rehabilitation Training Center for Excellence (RTCE), under the Cameroon Baptist University Institute (CBUI), proudly celebrates a significant academic milestone as the third batch of Midlevel Multiskilled Rehabilitation Technicians (MRT) successfully defended their final projects on Saturday, September 27th, at the RTCE campus. This event marks not only the culmination of rigorous academic training but also a reaffirmation of RTCE’s commitment to shaping professionals who will transform the rehabilitation landscape in Cameroon and beyond.

The defense panel was chaired by Dr. Monju Patrick, a senior lecturer at the University of Buea and the Baptist School of Public Health, Mutengene, whose presence added academic depth and distinction to the proceedings. Among the diverse and impactful research topics presented were: Assessing the Knowledge of Caregiver Involvement in the Management of Stroke Patients at BHM, led by Kuh Daisy and Yengong Bryan under the supervision of Mr. Fola George; and Factors Influencing the Quality of Life of People with Cancer at Mbingo Baptist Hospital, presented by Njua Alfred, Wepnje Frankline, and Kamanda, supervised by Mr. Ndzi Eric. These projects reflect the students’ dedication to addressing real-world challenges and improving the lives of persons living with disabilities.

This academic achievement is more than a celebration of scholarly excellence—it is a testament to RTCE’s unwavering determination to provide hope and practical solutions for individuals with disabilities. The center continues to align its efforts with the mission and vision of its esteemed Sponsors and partners, the Liliane Foundation. Their mission is rooted in the belief that inclusive societies empower children and young people with disabilities in developing countries to fully participate in all aspects of life. Their vision is to create communities where equal rights and opportunities are a reality for every child and youth with a disability.
RTCE’s partnership with the Cameroon Baptist Convention (CBC) remains a cornerstone of its success, enabling the center to expand its reach and impact. Together, they are fostering a new generation of rehabilitation professionals equipped with the skills, compassion, and vision to drive positive change in their communities. The successful defense of these final projects is a clear indicator of the center’s growing influence and the quality of its academic programs.

As RTCE continues to rise in prominence, we invite aspiring students to join this transformative journey. Admissions are currently ongoing, and we welcome individuals who share our passion for inclusive development and rehabilitation excellence. Come be part of a movement that is changing lives and building a more inclusive Cameroon—one student, one project, and one milestone at a time.
