The Baptist School of Public Health (BSPH) in Mutengene has been filled with the energy and intensity of first-semester examinations. For most students, these past weeks have been a roller coaster —a mix of tension, determination, and fun that only exams can bring.
Late-night study sessions became the norm, with textbooks and laptops glowing under the dim light of the hostel lamps. The air was very thick with nervous energy as students went over notes, exchanging questions and helping one another grasp difficult concepts. Some fueled themselves with a lot of coffee, while others powered through with cassava-flakes and sugar while others with a playlist of favorite spiritual songs.
Many level 100 students having their first experience at exams at a higher level.
Many students transitioning from secondary school to higher education, this semester has been a steep learning curve. Adapting to the increased workload, more independent learning, and the need for time management posed unique challenges. The shift from familiar routines to a new environment also required building resilience and navigating the emotional pressures of finding their footing in a demanding academic landscape. Yet, these students tackled it bravely, embracing the growth that comes with overcoming adversity.
Despite the pressure, the experience was not without its moments of fun. Impromptu debates, shared snacks, and whispered jokes during study breaks turned stress into laughter, creating memories that will last long after the exam paper is handed in.
Now, the waiting game begins. As students anxiously await their results, the campus is a mix of relief and anticipation. The long nights and tireless efforts are a testament to their resilience and commitment to their education. Regardless of the outcomes, one thing is certain—the BSPH students have proven they are a force to be reckoned with.
We cannot overstate how proud we are of each and every student. Your dedication, teamwork, and perseverance through this challenging chapter are deeply inspiring. You’ve shown remarkable strength, and we celebrate your hard work and the growth you’ve achieved. Keep striving—you’ve already made us proud!
