At the Baptist School of Public Health (BSPH), the journey to becoming a skilled physiotherapist is marked by rigorous academic training and immersive practical experiences. Recently, the Level 300 Physiotherapy students had the opportunity to engage in a dynamic practical session under the expert guidance of their lecturer, Mr. Oliver Haumann.
The session was a vibrant blend of theory and practice, designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application.
During practice sessions, students practice various therapeutic hands on techniques such as exercises, manual therapy techniques, and patient interaction assessment methods. The atmosphere is intentionally made to be one of collaboration and curiosity, as students are opportune to work in pairs and small groups, providing feedback and support to one another as the tutor moves around the room, offering personalized guidance and sharing insights from his extensive experience in the field.
As the session concludes, the students have a deeper understanding of physiotherapy practices and a renewed enthusiasm for their chosen profession. The hands-on experience provided is an invaluable component of their education at BSPH, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to excel in the ever-evolving field of physiotherapy.
